Deepinder Goyal was born in Punjab in a small town where he grew up in a middle-class family. Goyal’s early academic years were challenging: he admits to being a below-average student in his initial school years, and in fifth grade, his performance was so weak that his father had to request the school principal to promote him to the next class. When he was in school, he came ranked 3rd in eighth grade, which boosted his confidence.
